'SOCAN Awards' couldn't help but to notice 'Dangerous'

In November 2009, DJ Kemo and hAZEL (of Vanguards Music), Kardinal Offishal &Akon received an 'Urban Music Award' from SOCAN for 'Dangerous' achieving the greatest number of performances on domestic radio during 2008.

The beat for 'Dangerous' was created in 2007 by both DJ Kemo & hAZEL. 'Dangerous' went on to sell 2.6 million world wide and was the lead off single fromKardinal Offishall's album, Not for Sale (2008, Konvict Muzik).

SOCAN administers the performing rights of Canadian songwriters, composers, lyricist, and music publishers. SOCAN is governed by a member-elected Board of Directors and offers their members access to its entire repertoire of copyright-protected music for communication and public performance.

K'Naan - Wavin Flag (Vanguards Remix)

K'Naan's "Wavin Flag" is the official theme song the World Cup's 2010 tournament in South Africa. The song is off of his album "Troubadour" (2009). K'Naan's career took off a few years back with the help of Sol-Guy (Vancouver), who is a pioneer in Canada's "urban music." Sol is one of the creators for MTV's "4Real" which Vanguards do TV Sound tracking for. Sol also played instrumental roles in the early success of Rascalz, K-OS, Kardinal and more.

Its OFFICIAL!!! Frankie J and his fans have chosen 'Crush ' (Produced byhAZEL) as his official single.

Hailing from Tulsa, Oklahoma hAZEL met up with DJ Kemo after moving to Vancouver. Soon after hAZEL became an official member of Vanguards Music. More importantly, hAZEL is the melodic piece of the group and was the other contributing member to creating the beat for Kardinal's chart topping 'Dangerous.'

'Dangerous' sells 2.6 Million.

Vancouver based production crew Vanguards Music have been putting in their work. From producing music for 4Real TV to working with EA Sports, Vanguards have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Last summer (2008) ‘Dangerous’ was the lead off single to Kardinal Offishall’s album, Not for Sale (2008, Konvict Muzik). The single ‘Dangerous’ went on to sell 2.6 million copies world wide.
