Vancouver based production crew Vanguards Music have been putting in their work. From producing music for 4Real TV to working with EA Sports, Vanguards have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Last summer (2008) ‘Dangerous’ was the lead off single to Kardinal Offishall’s album, Not for Sale (2008, Konvict Muzik). The single ‘Dangerous’ went on to sell 2.6 million copies world wide. This is a major accomplishment for both Vanguards Music and Kardinal. This week the crew from Vanguards head down to Los Angles to accept their ASCAP Award for Pop Songwriter of the Year, 2008.
ASCAP is a membership association of more than 350,000 U.S. composers, songwriters, lyricists, and music publishers of every kind of music. Through agreements with affiliated international societies, ASCAP also represents hundreds of thousands of music creators worldwide. ASCAP is the only U.S. performing rights organization created and controlled by composers, songwriters and music publishers, with a Board of Directors elected by and from the membership.
